CIVIL-ISATION IS AN IDEA – IF YOU LIKE AN IDEAL
It is not an organisation or even a campaign with easily definable goals.
It is an ideal that is simply articulated in the Statement: The Right of All to the Dignity of Respect,
While inspired by the wisdom of the great religions and their emphasis on the ‘sanctity of life’ and a love that is ‘all cherishing’, because it is non-partisan it could also be said to be secular.
As an ideal that unites, CIVIL-ISATION could be said to share characteristics with the Soil Association, which unites ‘commodities’ by clarifying a shared ethical standard.
However, such a universal ethos cannot be constrained by a single language and because it gives clarity and hope, it is the most powerful of all ideas.
